A while ago, someone I was very close to tried to change who I was. (…) No matter what she told me, I was still the same man she couldn't stand. It caused us to go our separate ways.

―Alec, to Connor about his wife

Alec Çelik[1] was a contestant - and one of two secondary antagonists - on Disventure Camp 1 as a member of the Purple Team. He returned as a contestant and the main antagonist for the first half of Disventure Camp: All-Stars as a member of the Yellow Team.

Appearance[]

Alec is a tan-skinned man with long brown hair that has light streaks tied in a ponytail with a blue hair tie, cleft chin and glasses. He wears a white button down with a blue sweater vest over it, featuring a pattern of three light blue rhombuses. He wears dark gray sweatpants held in by a black belt, and he is wearing black shoes with white socks. According to an official post, Alec is 5'9/1.80cm tall.

In All-Stars, he seems to have ditched the vest and changed his shoes to a pair of blue slip-ons with white soles. He also appears to have grown some stubble during his time off from the show.

Personality[]

Alec is very stoic and serious most of the time. He likes to read a lot, and he is very intelligent. He doesn't socialize much with most of the other campers, instead preferring to read the books he brought with him to camp. Alec reveals himself to be a cunning strategist in “Baking My Heart!” when he chooses to ignore Ashley and Lill because he knows he will get further in the game with Fiore. However, he also has a soft, caring side as shown in some of his interactions with Ellie, Grett, Connor, Riya, and Fiore. While calm most of the time, he can lose his cool when placed in high-stress situations. Despite Alec's intelligence, he is shown to be lacking when it comes to being a husband and father, as evidenced by his rocky relationship with his ex-wife and his apparent neglect for his son.

At the beginning of Season 1, Alec was a generally friendly person despite not pursuing social interaction, but as the series progresses, a new side of him emerged with the help of Fiore. He has been shown repeatedly to be a cunning person who isn't afraid to do morally questionable deeds, such as manipulating others, in order to get further in the game. While he did originally enter the show in an attempt to win back his family's respect, Fiore gave him advice and told him that he should try to win for himself.

Going into All-Stars, Alec appears to have become even more determined to win, as he revealed in his interview with Emily that his financial situation is not the best after getting divorced. It appears he remains embittered towards Fiore for eliminating him in Season 1, but also still shows concern for her when she is targeted by her team. Alec, however, sets his resentment aside and deduces that a good social game was what he had lacked - quickly strategizing and forming a powerful alliance that would go on to dominate much of the first half of the game. In “Dis-vengers”, Alec drunkenly confesses to Riya that his divorce from his wife. Cheryll, left him so depressed that he is unable to even enjoy reading, He also uncharacteristically kisses Riya in the same scene, showing that he has trouble inhibiting himself after drinking. Leading up to his elimination in “Gone Downhill”, Alec begins to mellow out once again, largely in thanks to the friendship that he forms with Connor.
